From some of the folks that brought you The Philadelphia Naked Bike Ride comes BIKE PARTY!!

Philly Bike Party is based off the west coast bike parties. (check ‘em out: http://www.sjbikeparty.org/)

Basically, bikers meet up and bike a route, stopping along the way to dance at predetermined spots. Our first ride ever was back in November and now we’re gearing up to do it again!

Steph and Karenina are two ladies who like bikes and who like community. We met while organizing the Philly Naked Bike Ride and loved it so much that we wanted  a way to continue the fun all year round. Someone mentioned Bike Party and we were instantly enamored by the idea. Since our momentous first ride in November, Steph joined one of the attendees in bringing back Critical Mass and Karenina has become a strong community advocate at the meetings for Safe Streets Philadelphia in their plans for constructing bike lanes.

Tony Mont, our resident DJ is an all around supporter and we’re looking forward to working with him more in the future!

Since we really are just two people doing all of this on our own, we would love it if you could help out. We’re always looking for people to: blog about Philly Bike Party, talk to local bike shops & communities about Philly Bike Party, hand out stickers to people, fund-raise, keep riders in the bike lanes during the ride, design newer and better stereo systems, plan the route.
